Today marks week #5 of my series on featured Etsy artists. It is my goal to introduce some drool-worthy eye-candy. What inspires you? My inspiration comes from many places: books, magazines, people, nature, and sometimes my dreams!




Where do you call home? Are you from there originally? I am originally from the Aegean coast of Turkey. I currently live in Rhode Island.




Share an interesting fact about yourself. I am a Chemical Engineer by trade.


How did you come up with your shop name, PaperInStyle? Actually my sister (who lives in Turkey) came up with the name. We brainstormed for hours and hours on the phone!




What made you decide to open up shop? I decided to open up a shop after spending so much time (literally weeks) trying to find cute favors, favor tags and invitations for my sister’s baby shower.


Name your favorite thing about selling handmade. My favorite thing about selling handmade is working with customers to customize the items based their imagination! I always get questions such as “are we limited to this font or to this color” and I love explaining them that I can do whatever they like to have, there is really no limit.


Do you have a day job or sell on Etsy full-time? I work full-time as an engineer.

List a few of your most favorite pastimes. Several months ago I started doing Gyrotonic, which is an exercise system that includes movements from swimming, yoga, gymnastics, and tai chi, using specialized equipment. I am now addicted to it! I also love taking small road trips in New England with my husband and our dog Bonita.




Read any good books lately? I am currently reading “Horse Sense for the Leader Within” by Ariana Strozzi. Actually one of my stationery items on etsy are named after this book.


What is a favorite food? Meze’s from tulayskitchen.etsy.com, of course!




What would you like to learn to do? Be a MASTER of Adobe Illustrator (Oh, I should add digital photography).


What are you listening to right now? Pink Martini!!! – I am looking forward to listening their new album, Splendor in the Grass.




Name one place you must visit in your lifetime and why. I would love to visit Merano, Italy where my great grandmother is from!
