{a special print for Gussy}

One of my blogging friends, Becca, contacted me a few weeks ago, saying she made something with Gussy in mind. Becca looooves to draw {this is her shop} so I had a little bit of an idea of what she had made.

Except in the end, I was way off. I'm in love! I had this print framed immediately and now it sits all sassy-like in our apartment. I have it on the wall right before you walk into The Sweat Shop. Hah!

How perfect is that?!

See?
This is why blogging is fun :]

Actually, once Becca showed me this print I contacted this Etsy seller and she painted a frame in this custom red color. Perfection.

***

A little about Becca's Etsy shop:

Hello, welcome to my little submarine shop! No, I don't sell sandwiches. I make whimsical submarine art! Go ahead, look around!

I am the proud and sassy wife of a submariner, and a *new* stay-at-home mom. My father was a Navy Chaplain, my brother and grandfather, Marines. I guess it's in the blood.

Creating, dreaming, and scheming are the things that get me through long deployments and this crazy lifestyle. I love being a military wife. I create these pieces to pay homage to the hard working men of the "silent service." They are always on duty, always standing the watch, protecting our rights, freedom and way of life. I hope that when people see my artwork they think of and appreciate the sailors and the families that love them and eagerly await their return.

Isn't her stuff cute???

{I heart...}

It's pretty drab in Minneapolis. The weather is drab, I mean. I've found some pretties to share with you, things that make me happy just by looking at them. I'm tired of looking at the snow here. And my winter coat. I hear Minneapolis gets most of it's snow in February and March. Ahhh... hubby we moved to the wrong state ;)

I am a very visual person. If it makes my heart flutter, I instantly heart it.

Aren't the camera necklace and typewriter necklace just darling?! Ohhhh, swoon. All of these items are found on
Etsy.

I know I haven't updated much on my shop there... but I still heart Etsy! I'm trying to find my balance, and to keep balance I must constantly shift a little. Here and there. Every other day. Stay with me... :)

Do you have a list {on paper or on your computer} of things you love? If you do {or had a list}, what would be on it?

Today is a day of eye-candy.
No pressing news to share.
No shop updates.
No Gussy stories {bummer!}

Just eye-candy.
Just pretties.

{I just couldn't stop typing...}

Brrrrrr!
Fall has arrived in Minneapolis! I could see Zack's breath this morning on our walk to work. The season is approaching fast... I hope winter doesn't visit Minneapolis that abruptly. Who am I kidding? I'm sure it will :) Gussy is prepared, though! My cute mittens will be arriving this week. I just know I'm going to treasure them; they are so adorable. Have you ordered anything new for the season?

***

Look at this snazzy, sassy number I put together tonight:

And, it smells great.
Double bonus.

I'm really loving the cooler weather.
Pillows, special yellow blankets, and to-die-for candle scents are on the top of my favorites list! I also found my yarn and knitting needles. I'm working on my domestic skillz by sewing a little cozy for our bookshelf.

***

Another great cold-weather fav. is my crock pot. Last night we had Upside Down Chicken Pot Pie. Tonight we're having Tomato Basil Bisque Soup with Gourmet Grilled Cheese.
{That means like three slices of cheese!}

We should do a recipe swap, yes?

***

Guess what else would be great for newly arrived cold-weather?
Some houndstooth fabric, of course.

My friend Natalie suggested the idea to me and I love it! :)

***

How lovely are these
hand dyed ribbon roses?!

{I'd love a bowl of them for around the house.}

Buy them for me?

***

Lastly, did you know Gussy is having an Etsy sale? In addition to the two giveaways you could enter {I believe they end soon}, there's a sale to celebrate 150 Etsy transactions.
Sweet!

{Actually, I'm at 151, but that's a bit besides the point, right?}

The sale looks like this:

Go ahead, click the banner, visit my site,
and tell me your thoughts -- they are
always welcomed.

  • I've found some adorable things that need to be shared:

{our nest our home}

{TV bench}

{true love stamped necklace}
{i know this isn't a "house" item, but i just love it!}

{damask ironing board cover}

{sketchbook pillow cover}

OK, wow. That got a little out of hand...
yikes.

  • A wonderful, adorable, so-perfect conversation between my mom and Collin {my 4 1/2-year-old nephew}:

This morning Collin and I were talking about Jesus and he asked me "who is Jesus' mother?".

I said "Mary".

He said, "no Grama, Mary had a little lamb; she didn't have Jesus".

That's all for me.
What about you?

Anything you'd like to share? :)
