{lots o' photos}

Zack and I live such adventurous lives. One minute we're in Minneapolis, the next we're in Chicago, then in South Bend, Indiana. Despite the sadness of this past weekend's events {hooray for heaven, though!}, we had a good time. It was great to see my family, especially since we weren't able to see them over Christmas.

We had fun sharing head phones, sleeping in a Princess bedroom {thanks cousin Hannah!}, and eating lots of yummy food. Also, I can't forget about watching Napoleon Dynamite with my family and laughing with my cousins as they play in the snow {some of my cousins are from Florida and Georgia}.

My cousin Hannah and me

We arrived back home after a few days of being away and the big city was absolutely gorgeous! It welcomed us home with blue sky and bright sunlight.

These pics were taken while on the Light Rail {aka: train}...

Anyways, since we were unexpectedly gone for Valentine's Day, Zack re-scheduled our V-day dinner reservations for Tuesday night. We went to Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant in downtown Minneapolis. AMAZING!!! AMAZING!!! I'm not going to type all that we ate... hah! Everything was super delish though :)

Just look at how cute this place is:

I know this is a little "late", but what did you do for Valentine's Day?

--------

I'm not quite sure what is going on, but I need to vent. About Zack. And how outrageous he is :)

Sunday night he wanted to shave his head. Fine. Then he decided he wanted to have a little mohawk, from his forehead to the nap of his neck. Fine, again.

Then yesterday on the bus we were sitting together and next thing I know his hand is up in my armpit {don't worry I was wearing a coat}.

What the
helllllllo?!

I was like, What are you doing? Stop, now.

Yes, I said it just like that.

{It's OK, you can laugh...}

Then he started balling/squashing my fabric knots on my messenger bag.

Again, Stop, now.

Last night he was eating popcorn with his mouth wide open. For those of you that know Zack IRL {in real life} you know he has a... large mouth. Handsome, but large :)

I LOVE YOU, ZACK!!! <3

Anyways. I'm not sure if all the time we spend together is finally catching up with me or what...? Or if God is trying to be like 20% funny {because I think He's being more like 70% funny...}

Some times men are weird. Like, why does he have to PLOP down on the bed? Why can't he swiftly set himself on the bed?

But then again, why does he empty the dishwasher for me after a night of coffee with a friend? Why does he call me Miniature Princess? Why does he love me the right way?

Because that's just Zack :)

I guess as long as he stays away from my armpits we'll be OK

Valentine's Day is soon approaching... what kind of Love Stories do you have to share?

xo!

{special decorations}

Ever since that one November morning, as we rode on the city bus to work, Zack and I knew we just had to visit The General Store downtown. Apparently this is a 25-year-long tradition for the city of Minneapolis for the local radio station to set-up shop in this seasonal store.

We went last night, finally able to meet up with each other after work. The store is only open M-F, 10 am - 7 pm. Since we both work at 9, and since we both get out at different times, the store's hours haven't been too convenient.

Last night, however, we made a point to meet up and visit The General Store.

And my, oohhhhhh my, do they have the cutest things. We were looking for a Christmas ornament that we can say one day, We bought this ornament while living in Minneapolis. Man, that was such an adventure living there! :)

I also, being the Naughty Gussy-girl that I am {or that someone is that lives here}, convinced Zack to purchase this cute, little, Christmas light-adorned tree {see above photo}. Because it's only $2.95. Helloooooo, we need it. Hah :)

On our way home from The General Store we saw a girl ice-skating downtown. It was such a scene from a movie. I swear... Gussy + Zack living scenes straight from a movie.

I believe I'm out now of words.
Yes, I believe this is a first.

tee he he.

PS. Minneapolis is supposed to get 20+ inches of snow soon, and we're supposed to fly out to Michigan soon. Please pray we are able to safely land in Michigan and that we can still spend lots of time with our families, despite the bad weather predicaments.

Many thanks :)

{Christmas magic}

It's almost time...
and we are very excited!

{3 days}

...3 days until Christmas and
Zack was at the mall of america shopping for me last night.
{i'm such a lucky gal. i wonder what stores he went to...?}

he left the house and now i'm playing with the camera on my iMac.
i never do this stuff when he is around.
because it would be so embarrassing for him to see me playing in front of the camera.
hah.

ooohhhh, guess what i saw with my blue eyes last night?!
{don't worry, i didn't touch anything. just looked. really hard.}
{see mom, some things never change} :)

a present that contradicts allllll things.
a present addressed to "Naughty".
and i think it's for me!
hah.
hahaha.

I will let you know on Christmas Eve if it was for me
or for some Gussy-girl.

{gift certificates are now available!}

Sometimes it's just too hard to pick just one Gussy. Right? And I should know. I can't sit down and sew just one ruffled Gussy item, I have to sew at least 15.
Or 20.

To making giving a Gussy this Holiday season, I've made something totally unique and no one's ever done this before, either.

Give your gal a Gussy gift certificate! Upon purchase, I'll email your Gussy gift certificate within 24-hours. You can then print it and give it! It will contain a unique code that the recipient then enters in the Message to Seller" section at check-out. See? I told you it was easy :)

{can you guess?}

UPDATE:

I am such a tease. Look at my ruffles, now:

{click photos to enlarge}

ORIGINAL POST:

working on three special things tonight...
Gosh, can anyone guess what I'm sewing?!?!

They'll be available tomorrow {early} afternoon.

{banner update, this + that}

Has anyone noticed something new on my blog + Etsy shop? After much discussion I learned I needed to showcase more of my products in my banners. Spent an hour or so working on it yesterday and it's officially Gussy-approved :)

I am defintely going to miss my Gussies while we are away for the upcoming Holidays. The last time I had a little {errr, big} sewing break we were moving to Minneapolis. Believe it was 20-some days without sewing? Sheesh, seemed like for-ev-er!

What is new with y'all? Are you getting ready for Christmas and New Years? Anyone have awesome plans? We do! We are going to be visiting our families, whom we haven't seen in about 4 months. Yeow! :) So very excited to see my two little nephews, along with everyone else. It's just that these 'lil guys change so much so fast. I hope I haven't missed out on too much.

It's now been a whole day with my new desk. Hah. Still love it. No, you can't have it. And she can't have it, either :)

I've had plenty of requests for Gussy stockings in my Etsy shop and now I'm so kicking myself for not having any extra sewn up. Remind me in the fall and I'll take a poll to see if I should make a few and mark "for sale". THEY ARE SO CUTE :)

Here, take another sneaky peek:

Don't you just want to touch those ruffles?! I talked with Mama Gus a few days ago. Updated her that my Heather Bailey fabrics have come in. She said, Do you just want to touch them?!

Ahh, a woman with a mind like mine ;)

{we have GUSSY stockings}

Remember yesterday when I showed you these two photos?

Most of you guessed correctly! And some of you I wanted to squeeze. Just kidding. I TOTALLY laughed-out-loud at your comments. You guys are hilarious x 35. Yes, I made Hubbs and I matching stockings. See our matching green ruffles? And the matching plaid? And I'm done with the "M" word ;)

Thank goodness he let me put a ruffle on his stocking. It would have been sooo ocky/icky without it. Don't you agree? And on mine I put a 'lil bit of Heather Bailey fabric at the top. Sassin' it up, ya know?!

See my orange toes? They made it into the picture on accident but didn't feel like cropping them out because I am done editing -- cropping, color-correcting, re-sizing and all that jazz. Maybe another day? Maybe.

I totally love love looooove our stockings. I could let out a big YEOW {!!!} right now, they are that cute. Maybe if we were all friends IRL I could show you all? Sigh... Sew cute!

PS. I am getting a new computer desk soon. I think it's getting picked up tonight. It's not really a "computer" desk -- more like a sassy, rufflicious, Gussified desk. It's white, it's wood, it's adorable. It has a few drawers on each side so I can hide chocolate! yeow! I mean fabric scraps. Silly fingers typed the wrong word ;)

And you know pictures of THAT are to come, too.

OK. Time to unravel over a cup of coffee.

See ya, wonderful blogger friends...

{can you guess my ruffles?!}

Everyone.
Big announcement!
I made two cuties last night. I can't wait to show them to you, but they aren't ready. Not quite yet. I need some early-afternoon daylight. For now you get one hint. You have to keep reading though to get the hint :)

-------------------------

This is our Gap Christmas tree. Do you love it or what?! I love it because it has red plaid {which Z picked out}, and silver ornaments. And silver sparkly ornaments. And ornaments from my grandma.

LOVE THIS TREE!

OK, here is a preview of the two cuties:

Please note the matching green ruffles:

I asked Z if I could put a ruffle on his _______ and he said "heck yeah!" So before he could change his mine I quickly cut some fabric. Once the fabric is cut, you can't go back. Can I get an Amen?!

OK. I'll be back later to reveal my ruffles.

Do you think you can guess what I made?

{Featured Artist: Paper In Style} winner:

Congrats to Jodi for winning the little bird personalized eco-friendly stationary, set of 10.

I'll be back later today with new Gussy items!
:)
