{share your tips!}


Hey all you business-owners and/or multi-taskers! I'd like to use the comment section of this post as a tool to help us engage in a discussion.

Gussy would like to know, How do you do it?!


Y'all know I work about 70 hours a week right now. Task #1: Proofreading, Editing, site-maintenance. Task #2: cutting/ironing fabric, sewing, blogging, emailing, and designing. Task #3: Being a wife, a sister, a daughter, a friend. Task #4: Sleeping, cooking, eating, laundry, cleaning.

There are TONS of things Zack helps me with, but there are also a ton of things I simply have to do myself. Like cook and sew ;)

{sorry babe, but thank you for offering to help in those areas!}


I'd love for us to help each other out, using the blogging industry to share some of our tips with each other. I love to be encouraged, inspired, and pushed to try something new!

I know there are some super talented Gussy blog readers out there. If you want to, if you can find some time, please share how you manage and maintain your daily tasks. Do you have any unique tips?

Do you take a night off and it's purely "ME TIME"? Do you turn off your email alerts {I have been known to do this}?

I hope to share your comments in an upcoming, informative blog post.

I would love to know also. because for a while know i have been wanting to open an etsy shop and i really want to know how to get my name out there, and have people buy! I also need to find time to do some major crafting and with a lax last semester of school I will have a chunk of free time to work on sewing, and hope to have a shop up by summer. if not sooner. So i look foward to all the posts!

Some girlfriends and I started a group called "priority planning" years ago to help us do this very thing. It's fondation comes from being like the Proverbs 31 woman, but making it obtainable in our own lives. Here's what we did: The whole goal of priority living is to achieve goals. We all know how great it is to feel a sense of accomplishmet and mark things off of lists. So when you make goals, they might seem trivial, or even small, but all the small goals add up to accomplishing the one big goal. (being a good mom, wife, owner, friend, ect.)
We set these goals"

Loving my home:
Loving my family:
Loving others:
Loving myself:
We held eachother accountable for these things weekly, and sometimes over email asked for creative ways to make the goals fun. It has become a way of life for me now!

I treat myself to an hour massage. It helps me relax and zone out while working out the stress kinks

I got so stressed out about this when I first started my job! I just decided that I would have to sit down and plan it out. I wrote down a list of everything that had to be done at home. Then I wrote those tasks down on a calendar on the days that would be easiest for me to complete them, and then I posted it on the fridge for my husband and I both to see. I even made a meal plan for two weeks. That way I could buy groceries and know what I needed would be in the fridge (for the most part), and then I scheduled every other Monday as "grocery shopping night" so that I didn't have to worry about not having anything to eat.

I wake up about 30 minutes earlier than usual now, and I set out whatever it is I need for supper. Then I spend 15 minutes completing the tasks I need to complete. If they don't all get done, its ok! There's always the next week! And just remember...when we get to heaven, it's not going to matter how many suppers we cooked, or how many times we mopped the floor! Don't stress about the small stuff!

i wish i had some good tips, but i probably need to hear someone elses. my mommy duties always seem to override my sewing/shop duties, and i guess its just a season right now having a 5 year old and a 2 a super active year old. its definitely hard to balance though. and hard to read blogs of women who seem to "do it all" and do it "well". i know for me i do computer stuff when the kids are watching movies/tv (guilty) and sew during naptime and bedtime. and every so often we can all create in the studio together, but its hardly productive. i just love creating stuff with my kids. having a supportive husband is definitely key. wish i had better advice, still figuring out myself. ;)

i wish i had some great tips, but life is busy! with twin girls who are 2.5, a husband that works long days and just a busy schedule as a mom m-f, i am having a hard time keeping up right now.

i sew at naptime/bedtime..i try to take the weekends off, this is my family time, but right now things are busy again, so sewing is happening on the weekends.

i try and do all of blog post early in the week and then schedule them for the whole week. i have a pretty set schedule m-f with the girls, which helps, but it is very busy...we are out of the house everyday by 9ish with something going on.

i don't stress about how clean my house is anymore and i have let go of the small stuff...because at the end of the day the most important thing in life is that i am a good wife and mom...those 2 things come before anything else in my life and if i fail at those, nothing else matters.

Love reading these posts. I'm still trying to figure it all out as well. Lately, I've been super busy with my etsy store, besides the the kids, house and hubby. There's just tons to do. I try to do as much crafting in the a.m. (I'll wake up before everyone else) Then before I pick up my oldest from school I'll do a bit more crafting. One thing that has helped me a lot is blocking out the hours from 6 to 9pm and having this be family time. That way I feel like I spent time with my kids at the end of the day. It's also dinner time and I've been making a big effort for us to all sit at the table together.

Until last week I had been burning the oil at both ends between being a SAHM Mommy and our blog. I had to take a day of rest. I vegged on the couch ALL day on Thursday while the hubs cleaned the house and watched the dude. It was just what I needed!
